Our Boys

Darby (Seafox Landlover)  our first Flat Coat was born in 2008. Darby was out of Blacklace and Seafox Kennels. His sire was Koby (Blacklace Magic Mocha Sapphire) who was a multiple Best of Breed and Show winner.

Darby is the namesake for our kennel.  Darbyshire was a nickname given to him by a close family member. We lost both of them within 10 days of each other so it only seemed fitting to use Darbyshire as our kennel name.

September 2008-April 2019

Crosby (BIS GCh Blacklace Top Shelf Scotch N' Soda) is our foundation male. He is out of Blacklace Flat Coated Retrievers (Kathy Kondrat).  He is the one that started us on this breeding/showing journey. Crosby is our COVID puppy. We were not able to start showing him until he was 19 months old. He has had multiple Best of Breed wins and placed 4th in Sporting Dog Group at the age of 22 months and recently earned a Best in Show. 

Crosby is truly Flat Coat in every way. He embodies that carefree "Peter Pan" nature that Flat Coats are know for. He has completed his Canadian Grand Championship in the show ring and is currently well on his way to Grand Champion Bronze.

 Lewis (Darbyshire Prince Of The Maple Winter Woods) is out of our Maple litter, born in Apri 2025.  A lovely breeding between Crosby (GCh BIS Blacklace Top Shelf Scotch N'Soda) and Jayna  (Ch Ronevorg Fly The Maple Flag).  We are excited to see him develop as he begins his training in conformation and as a Therapy Dog to work along side our oldest daughter.
